In Loving Memory of

Clinton Dunbar

19 September 1950 – 8 August 2024

Clinton Roy Dunbar, affectionately known as "Tinna" to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 8, 2024, in his home in Islington, St Mary, Jamaica. Born on September 19, 1950, in Jamaica, Tinna grew into a man whose friendly demeanor, loving nature, and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met.

Tinna received his early education at Port Maria Primary School, where he was known for his eagerness to learn and his warm, engaging personality. It was there that he began to foster a lifelong passion for swimming and diving, a passion that would not only shape his personal life but his professional career as well. Tinna dedicated many years to his profession as a licensed lifeguard, safeguarding the lives of others with vigilance and care. His work allowed him to be close to the ocean he loved, and his presence was a reassuring sight to the many who entrusted their safety to him.

Beyond his work, Tinna was a family man at heart. He leaves behind a loving wife, Mrs. Agatha Dunbar, with whom he shared a deep and abiding partnership. Together, they raised a vibrant family which included three daughters, four sons, and three stepchildren. Tinna was also a cherished brother to his only sister. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren, among whom his dear grandson Teo held a special place in his heart, as well as five other treasured grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and a close-knit circle of friends, including his dear friends Bruno and Mary, who stood by him through thick and thin.

Tinna's zest for life was evident in his love for the water. His days off were often spent by the sea, swimming and diving, teaching his children and grandchildren to respect and enjoy the ocean as much as he did. His laughter and jovial stories were the highlight of many family gatherings, and his absence will leave a void in the fabric of their lives.

Those who knew Tinna were blessed by his unyielding positivity. He approached every day with an open heart and believed in the goodness of those around him. His kindness was a beacon, guiding his actions and influencing his community. He was a friend to many, always ready with a helping hand or a comforting word.

As we bid farewell to Clinton Roy Dunbar, we celebrate the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he spread. His journey on earth may have concluded, but the ripples of his influence will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Tinna's story is one of joy, connection, and the enduring power of a kind spirit.

In his passing, Tinna leaves us with a legacy of love, a reminder to cherish the simple pleasures of life, and an example of how to live with grace and generosity. His memory will be held in the hearts of his family and friends, and his spirit will live on in the laughter of his grandchildren and the quiet strength of the rolling waves he so adored.

As the sun sets on Tinna's time with us, we take comfort in knowing that he lived his life to the fullest, surrounded by those he loved, in the place that he called home. Rest in peace, Tinna; you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
