In Loving Memory of

Marvalin Bell

1 May 1965 – 5 May 2024

Marvalin Bell, known to most as Marvy, was a light so grand,

In Port Maria’s embrace, she first came to this land.

On the thirteenth of June, in twenty twenty-four,

The earth received a soul, of whom we could only adore.

She grew up with a spirit that was vibrant and bold,

In St. Mary High School, her stories were told.

Her laughter was a melody, her presence a charm,

With every challenge faced, she greeted with open arms.

Marvy worked at Courts Jamaica, with dedication and grace,

Helping others find comfort, in their home, their special place.

She sang with a fervor that could lift any spirit high,

And on the running track, she seemed to soar through the sky.

Praise the Lord was her motto, in faith she was steadfast,

Generous, interesting, and handy, her memory will forever last.

Singing praises to the heavens, in joy she found her part,

Running the race with vigor, until the day her heart did depart.

On the twenty-seventh of June, in St Mary, she took her final rest,

A heart attack claimed her, as she journeyed to the blessed.

Left to cherish her memory are Joyce Brown and Tom Stroke,

Her beloved sister and brother, their bond she never broke.

Marvy was the one you’d call, when in need of a helping hand,

Her generosity knew no bounds, across this beautiful land.

Interesting tales she’d tell, of places and faces she knew,

Handy with tools and with hearts, her kindness always grew.

“She walked in beauty, like the night, of cloudless climes and starry skies,”

Lord Byron’s words do echo true, as we gaze up, where her spirit flies.

Marvy, our dear sister, with a heart so pure and true,

Your days with us were precious, though they were far too few.

Though she has left this earthly realm, her legacy will not fade,

For in our hearts and memories, her light will never degrade.

Marvy, oh dear Marvy, your name we will always bless,

For knowing you has been our joy, our lives you did enrich.

So let us celebrate Marvalin Bell, our Marvy, with a smile,

For she has run her race with grace, and in our hearts, she'll stay awhile.

Her journey here may have ended, but in heaven, she’ll surely start,

To sing and praise with angels, forever young at heart.
