In Loving Memory of

Greta Brown

22 June 1940 – 30 November 2023

With profound respect and loving memory, we honor the life of Greta "Fay B" Brown, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Born on June 22, 1940, in Galina, St Mary, she graced our lives with her passion, friendliness, and kindness before her peaceful passing on November 30, 2023, in the Bronx, New York, due to a stroke.

Fay B was the daughter of the late Ivy Benjamin and Cecil Brown, and grew up in the vibrant community of Galina, where she attended Galina Primary School. Her roots in this close-knit community shaped her into the compassionate and warm-hearted person known to all. Fay B's journey through life was marked by her devotion to her family, which included her beloved brother Courtney Brown; her children, Elaine Walters, Jimmy Walters, Courtney Walters, and Sandra Boogaard; and her adored grandchildren, Craig, Jimari, Javia, Joni, CJ, Cyarra, Cynney, Adam, and Jordan. Her role as a great-grandmother to Elijah, Parker, Jackson, and Jonah brought her immeasurable joy and pride.

Professionally, Fay B dedicated 25 years of her life as a skilled seamstress at Donna Brassier Factory, a job that showcased her meticulous craftsmanship and unwavering work ethic. Beyond her professional achievements, she left a legacy of service by making school uniforms for the children of Galina, a testament to her generous spirit and commitment to her community.

Fay B's life was one of active engagement and simple pleasures. She found joy and challenge in solving puzzle games, an interest that reflected her sharp mind and patient demeanor. Her hands, so skilled at her craft, were equally adept at piecing together the intricate patterns of her favorite pastime.

Those who knew Fay B will remember her for the love she poured into every aspect of her life. She was the embodiment of the well-known quote by Mother Teresa, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." This philosophy was evident in every smile she shared, every uniform she stitched, and every puzzle she solved.

As we bid farewell to Greta "Fay B" Brown, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love, warmth, and kindness that will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched. She navigated life's complexities with grace and left the world a better place for her presence. Fay B's memory will be treasured eternally, and her spirit will continue to guide us, like a beacon of the love and friendship she so freely gave.

In remembrance of Fay B, we reflect on a life that exemplified the power of a kind heart and the lasting impact of selfless devotion. She has left an indelible mark on her family, friends, and community, and while we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary woman she was. Her legacy will live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love she instilled in all of us.
